Alanna Kovacs of Minesing, Ontario (personal best: 54.88m) and Melissa Fraser of Hillsburgh, Ontario (personal best: 54.24m) have been added to the field for the women's javelin competition at the June 29th UBC Pre-Jerome Classic. Both Kovacs and Fraser formerly competed for Depaul University in Chicago, Illinois. Fraser is the 2011 Canadian Senior Champion in the women's javelin, while Kovacs was a bronze medalist at the 2011 Canadian track and field Championships in the same event. The two throwers join Canadian record holder Liz Gleadle at the UBC Pre-Jerme Classic. Also in the field will be, UBC standout and NAIA finalist Christine Ausman (personal best: 45.17m) and UBC multi-event athlete, Julia Hawkins.
