International Flavour in Men’s 800 at 2013 UBC Pre-Jerome
Vancouver, BC- Former NAIA champion at Oklahoma Christian, Silas Kisorio of Kenya highlights the men’s 800m field for the 2013 UBC Pre-Jerome Classic on June 29th. Kisorio has run a personal best of 1:47.10 so you can expect the meet record of 1:49.00 set in 2012 by Tyler Smith to be in danger. Among other threats to the meet record, Villanova runners Jordan Williamsz and Sam McEntee both of Australia should be in the mix. Williamsz has a personal best of 1:47, while McEntee has run 1:53- both runners have also run 3:36 in the 1500 metre run.
North Americans will have a strong presence in this field. Pablo Solares of Mexico, who ran for Rice University in the NCAA, has run 1:46 in 2008 and could be a factor for the win. Americans in the field include: Richard Jones of the Santa Monica track club and Shariff Webb, who ran for the University of Kentucky. Canadians to lookout for in this field should be Keffri Neal of Surrey and UBC alumni Nigel Hole of Point Grey track club. This race is surely one that you won’t want to miss. It gets underway at 7:05pm. More news |
