Vancouver, BC- With the UBC Pre-Jerome Classic just weeks away, the women's 800m field is growing in numbers and talent. Headlining the field is longtime veteran and Canadian record holder, Diane Cummins of Victoria, BC. Cummins still holds the Canadian record in the half-mile at 1:58.39 and is one of only four Canadian women to dip under the two minute barrier. Also in the field, Lea Wallace, a former standout at Sacramento State and current UBC Pre-Jerome record holder at 2:02.50, will be looking to better her meet record from last year. Wallace recently ran a new personal best time of 2:00.94 at the Oxy Invitational in Los Angeles. Among young Canadians, Point Grey Track runner, Devan Wiebe, who holds a personal best of 2:05.40 from the 2012 IAAF World Junior track and field championships in Barcelona, will be in the field. Laura Carlyle, who just ran a personal best of 2:05.89 at the Portland Track Festival, rounds out the healiners for this race.

The UBC Pre-Jerome Classic is scheduled for Saturday, June 29th at the Rashpal Dhillon Oval.
