Spear Chief-Morris one to watch in the Women's 100m at 2013 UBC Pre-JeromePublished by
Vancouver, BC- Nineteen year old, Joy Spear Chief-Morris will be returning to her stomping grounds at the University of British Columbia on Saturday for the 2013 UBC Pre-Jerome. Spear Chief-Morris, of Lethbridge, AB, will be competing Unattached in the women's 100m. She's coming off a phenomenal collegiate season for UBC, in which she broke the twelve second barrier in the 100m and qualifed for the NAIA championship final in the same event. Spear Chief-Morris, coached by Derrick Johnston, will be using the 2013 UBC Pre-Jerome as a stepping stone in preparation for the Canadian Junior track and field championships in Quebec. Also in the field are Jamie Ashcroft of the UVIC track club and Aleisha Cobb of PATH. The 100m events kick things off with the men at 5:00pm followed by the women at 5:05pm. |
